Discovery Park Wrap-Up

November 25, 2009

Sunday yielded another fast paced race day due to low amount of precipitation. The grass offered incredible traction everywhere, which allowed racers a chance to rail the corners and only hit the brakes in a few places. We would like to thank all of the racers who came out to race the fast and twisty Discovery Park. The turnout was more than expected, and it showed in the numbers of out of town racers. Thank you all for making the journey to Sacramento.

All of this could not have been done without the help of many other people. Rio Strada played the perfect host, by entertaining the crowd with a festive race that was chalk full of race commentary, podium presentations, and race prizes.

Jeff Namba was out for most of the day shooting a huge number of photos from the various races.

And, Anthony Ordonez was on hand with his custom silk screened posters to commemorate the race.

Results are posted both with series overall points and without.  There was a delay as there needed to be some double-checking done with the USAC official but we are now at the point now where everything looks spot on.  Also, the photo section will be filling up with links, as people send us links to their storage locations.

Race #3 - Discovery Park - November 22

November 12, 2009

Sunday, November 22, marks the third installment of the Sacramento Cyclocross Series. (Hosted by Rio Strada.) The race will be held at Discovery Park located near Downtown Sacramento. The location offers plenty of parking, on site bathrooms, and water. There are plenty of vantage points for spectating and taking photos. Similar to last year, the grass will be fast rolling and easy on your equipment. (Assuming our rain season begins in January)

There is plenty of space for teams and families to spread out. Teams can setup their tents, warm up, and cheer for one another. Families will enjoy the large area for kids to play and explore. Hope to see you out there.
