Jeremy Ferguson

November 30, 2007

Jeremy FergusonYou won’t see this kid racing in Sacramento this weekend. That’s because Jeremy Ferguson will be up in Portland fighting his way up the rankings in this year’s Junior 17-18 USGP series.

Jeremy is one of the most mild mannered racers I have ever met. He has the grace to attack technical sections at a high rate of speed and make it look easy. He can climb like the elevation gain doesn’t exist. And, just when your at your wits end, he’ll throw another attack that sends a flood of lactic acid into your legs. Afterwards, he will come up to you and tell you good job and be 100% sincere about the compliment.

This is Jeremy’s last year as a Junior. The goal is to make it to make the selection for the Junior National Team that will head over to Italy for the world championships. This kid is definitely racing at the Elite level.

There is a huge difference between A’s and Elite. Racings A’s when the Elites are in town feels like you made last chair of the honor band. Yeah you have some chops, but it’s far from Elite. Jeremy is riding at the elite level. Check out his results at the local Bay Area Series races.

On that note, good luck in Portland! Tear up that lawn kid.

Venue Change for Round 5

November 28, 2007

Dear racers,

There has been a last minute venue change
for round 5 of the Sacramento Cyclocross series. Due
to environmental reasons, Beales Point will not be
available for this Saturday’s race. The race instead
will be held at Granite Beach, where rounds 3& 4 were
held just two weeks ago. I as well as Folsom State
Parks apologize for the inconvenience.

I know we have used Granite Beach many
times over the years, but I think there is still
plenty new lines to discover. The course for this
Saturday’s race will be a combo of the two courses
used most recently. There will be NO sandpit run but
plenty of fast riding and some technical sections too.

Thank you,

Rich Maile

Weekend Recap

November 19, 2007

Thank you for coming out and racing your bikes for two days in a row.  We had a blast putting the races on for you.

The overall results have been updated on the Results page.  Here are the links to the race day results for both Saturday and Sunday.

We still have some logo items for sale.  We have sweatshirts and ladies cut shirts for sale, and they will be up for sale at the next race in two weeks.

The next race will be at Beales Point on Saturday December 1st. Keep the training up over these next 2 weeks, and don’t loose your race number.  That’s all for now.
