Race 3 and 4 - Granite Bay Beach - Nov. 17th & 18th

October 30, 2007

Next up on the Sacramento schedule is a double header weekend at

Granite Bay Beach. (November 17th and 18th) Mark you calendars and plan for two days of solid racing. I know Rich has been working closely with the Park Rangers at this site for course development. When talking with him, it sounds as if he has been able to use his knowledge and charm to work out some new course designs. The first race day will be hosted by CyclingTraining.com and the second day will be hosted by Sacramento Golden Wheelmen. The race course will be different from day to day. Speaking of designs, Sacramento CX now has a logo and we have taken the liberty of getting T Shirts and Sweatshirts printed with the logo. We still have plenty of guys and girls shirts and an order of hoodies on the way. The profits generated from these sales go right back into the bank for next years season. Shirts are $20 and the sweat shirts are $35. We will have a tent setup so that you can make your purchases. Check out the merchandise page for pictures.Since the race is on a State park there will be a parking charge. The charge is in the range of $5, and the rangers do check even if no one is at the gate. So, take your time and fill out the envelope and make your deposit upon entry to the park.

Hopefully you still have your race number. Remember we are using season numbers this year. Look around you probably stuffed into the bottom of your gear bag. (Fingers crossed)

USA Cycling Officials Note:

October 13, 2007

Because this Sunday’s race at Hagan park is part of the NCNCA cup, there should be a much higher number of racers than usual in Sacramento.  Because of this, USAC officials have asked us to observe a few changes for the day:

If you ride through the start/finish area while warming up during a race with a number , you can be relegated (ie. sent to the back on the start) and possibly disqualified.  It is hard enough for officials to score racers without extra people riding through.  The size of the event increases this issue.

Because this is the second race in the NCNCA  cup, there will be top ten call ups in certain categories based upon current NCNCA cup standings.

That’s all!  See you on Sunday!
