What’s new for this year?
June 27, 2007
Well, the Elgarts have been looking for someone to take over the Sacramento Cyclocross series, and they have found a candidate. Rich Maile will take the helm this year, and there will be some modifications of the series. The modifications and changes are to be implemented in order to grow the sport and get back the grassroots spirit.
The big immediate changes are:
- The series will start in September and will stretch into January. There will be 6 races this year. The calendar will consist of one race per month, except for the double header weekend in November.
- Cash will be paid out to the top Men and Women A’s. All other categories, including masters and junior A’s, will receive medals the day of the race. The cash payout for Men and Women will be equal. (If you want to be in the money, step up and race A’s)
- All other prizes will be raffled off at the end of year Cylocrossers Ball. This is a chance for everyone to go home with some goodies. Everyone has a chance at winning the grand prize and o other goodies raffled off.
